thank you,yes 15 in 1972 i think it was the last year over here in which you could leave school at 15 then it went up to 16,cant remember much of san juan there were some no go areas we wasnt allowed to go to found two pics of me omg

Yeah, that is interesting that you could leave school as young as 15. I have a 15 year old son right now and the thought of him joining the navy at this age is....well....scary as all hell, yet comical at the same time.
15 is SOOooo young!

i was 16 in san juan had to be back onboard ship by midnight but when you were 18 you could be back onboard ship at 0745 in the morning nearly got back late once but thats another story Smile

tony didnt you know im a hammers fan mate always have been ,i use to wear black/white shoes tonic trousers when i was in the mob they were well trendy on nights out to the nightclubs Shocked

one of my old haunts was joanna's nightclub in southsea near portsmouth i always remember it had a tree in the middle of the dancefloor :shock:us matelots use to call it the Royal Naval School of Dancing

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself Captain. My family history has been sullied because of your lapse attitude toward your betters. How dare you blatantly ignore visiting the ship captained by a great family ancestor that prevented our navy from ending up consisting of a small fishing fleet based in Lime Regis.
